Calling All Green Fingers!
Are you passionate about trees, shrubs and flowers? We have a special opportunity for you to contribute to our Rec's planting and clean-up initiatives. Thanks to the generous funding from the Grow Back Greener Award, we're looking for local community members to help us choose and plant a variety of shrubs, wildflowers and trees at the Rec. By creating a more natural space, we aim to support local wildlife and migratory birds, while providing a beautiful environment for everyone in the community to enjoy.

We have exciting committee roles available for passionate individuals who want to make a difference in our community. Take a look at the roles available below:
Volunteer Network Manager
- Establish and grow the FoHR volunteer base through outreach to individuals, community-based organisations and groups, schools and corporations as appropriate
- Work closely with the Committee to assess volunteering needs
- Onboard new volunteers and maintain the volunteer database
- Support the Events and Communication Lead with newsletters, email news blasts, events and volunteer activities such as. planting, park clean ups, fun days.
Company Secretary
- Co-Chair in the absence of the FoHR Chair
- Ensure Committee meetings are effectively organised and minuted
- Define meeting agendas with the Chair
- Develop FoHR policies, for example equality and diversity and safeguarding with members of the committee
- Support event coordination with the Events and Communication Lead
- Prepare FoHR’s annual report with the Treasurer for the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Treasurer
- Report on the FoHR financial position including funding acquisition and expenditure
- Process payments and ensuring good financial governance
- Support creation of annual report and financial statements
- Provide quarterly financial updates (as appropriate) to the Committee.
Events and Communications Lead
- Support execution of FoHR content calendar and management of all external communication channels - website, emails, social media and print
- Create promotional literature with the Fundraising Lead and Chair (as appropriate), e.g. leaflets, posters
- Work with Programme Manager, Fundraising Lead and Project Leads to create newsletters and website or social media updates
- Plan and coordinate events.
